using precise point

Photo of a finger covering the lens of a smart phone camera.

Identify the camera lens

  • Activate the light sensor app you have chosen on your smart phone.
  • When you hear the audible tone for sensing light, use one finger to cover a camera lens.
  • If there is no tone change, then that is not the lens the app is using.
  • When you hear a low pitch tone, you have found the lens being used.

Attach to the camera

  • Place the phone on the edge of a surface like a table or counter with the camera facing up.
  • With the Precise Point band facing the top of the phone, place the opening of the hard, light-colored base of the adapter over the camera and hold in place.
  • With the other hand, pull the band over the phone to rest across the screen.
  • If the Precise Point is not sitting flat, hold it in place again. With the other hand, pull the band toward the adapter either left or right to help it adjust tension of the band for stabilization.

*** CAUTION ***

The Precise Point adapter is NOT to be used near an open flame source of light or rested on a hot surface.  Should be used in combination with bump dots or adaptive markings to ensure correct alignment for temperature options for kitchen appliance.  This device may also pose a choking hazard due to small parts so keep out of reach from small children and pets.

Made with versatility in mind

Contrasting color materials were used for those with low vision to help locate against most surfaces. The elastic band allows the Precise Point to fit on most phones with most protective cases.  You won't have to buy another if switching from  Android or Apple.  It allows for easy on and off especially for those with dexterity issues from arthritis, diabetic neuropathy, or other issue.
